Don't Call It a Comeback...

As a matter of fact, I wouldn't call it anything at all tbh.

I decided to post something new since the paranormal is sort of making a slight comeback into the spotlight again. It's the wave. It goes up, and it goes down. Eventually, it goes back up again, like at this very moment.

I have recently been inundated with calls for haunting assistance, new paranormal TV shows, etc. It's not even October and my phone has been ringing off the hook. Crazy, right?

I noticed once networks start airing new shows and the general public gets wind of this, people feel more inclined to speak up more, the news runs more stories on the paranormal, and TV networks start buying new shows.

So, I just wanted to toss that out there. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine on Facebook (Thanks for the heads up Heidi!) informed me they are running the older episodes of My Ghost Story that I am on this afternoon. Pretty cool to see that they are bringing back everything paranormal again.

Friday the 13th Game on PS4

Chchch ahahah... Chchch ahahah. The music starts to get louder as he gets closer. You can run, you can hide. However, there is a good chance he will find you, and when he does, there is little you can do to save yourself.

That pretty much sums up my first few games of the Friday the 13th Game released on Xbox One, PS4, and Steam for PC. I currently reviewed game this on the PS4 and let me tell you, it does not disappoint.. Well, sort of. If you love the idea of playing the role of Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th movies, you should love this game.

I say "sort of" because the servers for this multiplayer only game (single player is coming in August?) are having issues. Gun Media, the company that has developed the game, has stated that the demand has been overwhelming and the servers are having issues keeping up. They are working on the problems and it shouldn't be long before they fix some of the main issues plaguing them. Understood and fingers crossed.

Now, back to the game play details, if you are lucky to get into a game, you are teamed up with 8 or so other players. Someone is then chosen at random to play as the camp serial killer, Jason Voorhees. Out of the 10+ games I played, I was Jason about 4 times. Not to shabby on the average I guess. There are many Jason's to unlock as you progress through the game. From Friday the 13th Part 2 upward. Each Jason has different power ups and you can add different kill styles as you gain CP (character points?)

The killings are brutally awesome. From the head squeeze, to the spear in the face. I love every one of them. It is so entertaining to just watch a match as a spectator. It is almost like watching a Friday the 13th movie. Seriously. It's that good. I remember catching and killing this guy directly in front of the headlights of a car they were trying to use to escape, and watched all the detail of the horror on his face as I squeezed his head to a pulp.

If you are chosen to play as a counselor, your main goal is to leave the area alive. You can achieve this by working to collect items that will help you do this. Car battery, fuel for a boat, car keys, call and wait for the cops to arrive, or wait for the 20 minute match timer to run out. Also, when you die (which I am sure will eventually happen), you have a slight chance of coming back as Tommy Jarvis, the Jason killer. Potential spoiler here... there is even a way to kill Jason if you have the right team working together to do so. I am not going to reveal how to do this, but if you Google it, you can find the method.

I give this game a 7.5/10 until they address the server issues and add single player. Then, if all works well, I would say 10/10 for sure.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and make some fearful counselors scream and die!

State of Drama

The world. What a fun place of lines being drawn, sides being taken, and Facebook friends feuding with each other over politics. Good times! Good times! No, not really.

I have been mainly absent from social media for these reasons alone. I really have had it with the division in this country. People are easily hurt on a daily basis. Groups are constantly rising up to claim misconduct and unfair treatment. Everyone has an issue and they take to social media to share it with the world. Drama. Tons and tons of non-stop drama.

What does this have to do with Scream Paranormal though? Well, one of the main reasons I dropped out of the spotlight of the paranormal was for the very same reasons. Drama, complaints, back stabbing bullshit. Self entitled people looking for anything they get there hands on. TV shows, money, fleeting fame, etc. Taking a look from the outside now, I see it as being pathetic. Unjust and ridiculous. All for what? For nothing, that's what. Am I bitter? Nope, just wiser from surviving it.

So what can be done about all this drama? Help others that need it. Most of the time, you will see that your life is not so bad when you help out in a soup kitchen, a vets center, or your community. You think your life is bad? View the other side of the tracks and maybe you will see what your life could've be like if you were dealt other cards. Life is a gift and should not be taken for granted.

...and for those laying blame to Trump for all your misery. Don't do it. Be the change. Do it for yourself. Don't rely on your government to make you happy. Help others and help yourself. Bitching about it won't help. Be positive and positive things will happen. Keep away from the drama and you will move towards a more positive life for you and everyone around you.

Who you gonna call?

Last night, my daughter walked up to me and asked, "Daddy, when are we going to see the new Ghostbusters movie?" That's when it dawned on me... I had absolutely no plans or ambition to see the new movie. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was a new, female cast replacing Bill Murray and the crew. It had nothing to do with the fact that I was against this movie being made either. It was just that I have been so busy with things going on that I never gave it much of a thought. Needless to say, we jumped in the car and went to catch the 7:15pm showing.

One thing I want to say about this film right off the bat is that I think they made a mistake on releasing this film during the summer. It seems like it would have been more fun around October. You know.. Halloween. That spooky time of the year. That being said, let's move on to the meat and potatoes of this review.

Did I like the film? I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would have, I think of myself as being middle of the road when it comes to films. I like all sorts of genres. Comedies, horror, drama, etc. I think what aided me in my approval for this film was that my wife and daughter loved it. Sitting next to them and hearing them bust out laughing was the best part of the movie for me. I caught myself quite a bit of times laughing out loud myself which only proved that the film was a hit for me as well.

Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy are great in this. I liked them together when they were in the 2011 movie Bridesmaids, and it was no different for the new Ghostbusters. Leslie Jones was great as well. She knows how to bring the funny when it requires it and is fearless when it comes to acting. However, the actress that stole the show and made me root for her character was Kate McKinnon. The movie left me wanting to know more about this insane, mad scientist and what other crazy things she could invent. She geeked out with 100% confidence and it showed flawlessly.

The cameos were pretty cool as well. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Ozzy Osbourne, and Slimer were all awesome and surprising to see. I also love the fact that they dedicated the film to Harold Ramis. RIP Egon.

So, what would I give this movie score wise? I would say 8 out of 10 seems fair. I will most likely add it to my Halloween watch list every year as well. Ghostbusters is worthy to see on the big screen and I will definitely watch it again when I have the time to do so.

Yay! Negan is coming!!! Negan is coming!!!

The above image is your first look at Negan from the AMC TV show the Walking Dead. Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the lucky bastard to get the role. The photo is not much to go on, but in a few days, Negan will be making his debut on the show. Needless to say, it's about time he showed up.

If you know anything about the comics, Negan is a wicked son-of-a-bitch that kills without mercy. He carries a baseball bat which he named "Lucille" to bash peoples heads in. His dialogue is extremely colorful in the comic, which is most likely going to be toned down for the TV show. In The Walking Dead comic book, Glenn is the one that meets his demise from Negan and changes the tone of the series.

The big question that is on most fans minds at this time is: Who is Negan going to kill? Are they going to stay true to the comic book? Or have him take out another character? Only time will tell... but my bet is still on Glenn getting the intimate end of Lucille.  

This is a 90 minute special on Sunday night that is a must see for all fans of the show. I know I will be watching! Can't wait!

Fear of Death

Thanatophobia. The fear of death. It is inevitable. There is no way of avoiding it completely. Eventually, all living things die. Not so easy to accept, is it? Kind of frightening when you think about it...

"Thanks a lot Chris! I was enjoying my day till I read this post!" I'm sorry for posting about this, but I think it truly needs to be discussed. I feel this is a truth that you either accept as a part of life, or fear at times throughout your life. You make a family, friends, career, home, money... Then one day, it's all gone... and so are you. Poof!

Being a paranormal investigator is one of the things in my life that allows me to help control my own fear of death. Some use religion, I use the paranormal as my method to confront death. I owe much to the field of paranormal research. It has proven to be a great way to understanding death, and not fearing it. Logically approaching the field of the paranormal really proved to be valuable in more ways than one.

Some skeptical people will say, "Dude, the paranormal is fake! When we die, it's lights out. Nothing more." I feel bad for people that feel this way. Since they have either been watching certain paranormal TV shows that fake findings, or have never truly been out on a paranormal investigation before. Atheists have there place in the paranormal world, they just don't know it. I for one believe in God. Not because I have met him, but because of faith.

I remember hearing my first real EVP. Wow. Did my world open up... It was at that point that I became obsessed with learning as much as I could about death, spirits, and anything paranormal. I feel as though I am pretty lucky that I can actually hear disembodied voices... and I am not schizophrenic because I capture them on audio at the same time of hearing them. It maybe that I hear certain frequency ranges better than others. Who knows... I just know they are real.

One thing I dread is the day my daughter approaches me about death. I would hate for her to realize one day that daddy and mommy won't be here one day. The only proven comfort I have for her is my paranormal findings throughout the years. At this age, she is still a bit fearful of ghosts. Maybe in the future when she approached me about the idea of death, I can revisit that idea.

Another thing we fail to look at is advancement in medicine. Is it crazy to think that maybe with all the advancements in medicine that living forever could be possible? Right now, as it stands, the Scream Paranormal Research team and I are currently up for a few paranormal series TV shows... yet again. 

Yeah. It's like beating a dead horse... then beating it again, and again, and again... and then again. Is it frustrating? You bet it is. We are constantly being looked at for a reality TV show series and never get the network commitment. Is this the 128th time to charm? Who the hell knows. At this time, it is barely even blog worthy to write about it. I refuse to hold my breath any longer waiting on a show. The chances of successfully getting a network to buy and air your show is like 1,000,000 to 1. I think we have a better chance of catching Bigfoot to be honest...

What also sucks is the fact that anyone can call me a liar. Sure. Go for it. It won't be the first time... It really blows when you sign a non-disclosure agreement and are told not to say anything about the show. All I know is that the casting directors and production houses are real. Is the opportunity real? They say it is, so I guess I have to believe them. Am I skeptical? Yep. 100% until proven otherwise with a show confirmation.

For the record, the team and I have fun doing the casting interviews. We have even done sizzle reels, pilot episodes, and a few one-off shows for A&E Biography and Syfy. It's all in good fun and we have a blast doing them. Once the waiting starts, I just shut the whole thing off. It's best for everyone to do so. Dwelling on a "maybe" on a constant basis really sucks.

The one thing I have come to notice lately is that some of the older paranormal TV shows are just down right boring and fake as hell. It's like they don't even try to investigate anymore. They have had their time on TV and I feel it is time they move on to other ventures. I'm sorry, but their investigations get boring week after week. Even though I'd call some of these people my friends, it doesn't mean I have to like their shows. What makes it worse is when they start with the demon possessions, capturing a ghost, and other bullshit associated with the episode.

Given the chance, I know for a fact that my team and I could do a million times better then the shows that are currently airing on network. Sad thing is, we may never get the chance to prove it. Oh well... In the meantime, it's time for me to take out the garbage for tomorrows pickup. Be right back...

Being professional in the paranormal community

With everything going on lately, I thought it was time to finally clear the air a bit on what has transpired over the last month or so. There are a few loose ends that need to be taken care of, so for me, this is the place to do so. It's not like I haven't been attacked in the past from those seeking attention... so, here we go again...

My Personal Life

Let me start by saying, I understand that my personal life is out there quite a bit for others to see. This is my choice. I have been on TV a few times, attended numerous paranormal events, conducted many lectures, etc. Some consider me a paranormal celebrity, some do not. To each his own. In my eyes, I am a father, husband, and a paranormal investigator. At times, I would get caught up in the hype of the events and was led to believe I was more important than I originally thought. I even liked to make fun of being looked at as a paranormal celebrity by having my face put on t-shirts(...they glow in the dark btw!) I poke fun at the entire situation because... why not? All in all, it is in good fun that I do this. Most people get this, and again... some do not.

I have a strict rule I follow when it comes to my family. First and foremost, I protect my family from any and all types of vultures. Rude comments about any one of my family members equals you are on the "out" list. No apologies needed. I will never speak or pay attention to anything you do. If you want to be low-life scumbag, so be it. I don't have time for your bullshit, and neither does the rest of the world.

Once I was made aware of this recent attack on me, I decided to drop most of my paranormal friends from my personal Facebook page. Enough was enough. Who can you truly trust? That question plagued me every night for a week... so I took necessary steps to protect myself by dropping a ton of friends from my Facebook page. Wonder why the paranormal community is shrinking in numbers lately? Look no further than the backstabbing that takes place and you will find your answer.

Paranormal Disney World Trip 2015

What can I say... I should have ran this event by myself. Paranormal Disney World Trip was my idea. When I started the first Paranormal Disney World event in 2014, it was small, but had the potential to be something great. I have been attending Disney World parks nearly every year(sometimes up to 3 times a year...) since EPCOT opened on October 1, 1982. To combine Disney and the paranormal community together sounded like fun. I even had many ambitious and awesome ideas for future events. I worked my butt off making radio ads, video ads, banners, flyers, flew to Disney World for a site inspection, posted on Facebook message boards Disney related, etc. For the 2015 trip, I made a big mistake to let others into my trust circle and paid for it dearly.

For the record, I paid a large sum of money to leave behind the Paranormal Disney World Trip 2015 since the people I was working with were being extremely unprofessional. When I saw that the event was having possible financial issues and they would not work with me on cutting costs for the event, I knew I was in trouble. They would not return my calls, text message, or emails. It was only when I offered up $3,000 out of my own pocket to buyout from the event that they responded to me directly. Legally, I opted out of the event and passed off all legal and financial responsibility to this person. We had a mutual understanding and everything was taken care of in a legal and professional manner.

Professionalism

I try to remain as professional as possible when it comes to all business dealings. Events, business associates, etc. I put a "non-refundable" disclaimer on all of my events to make sure the venue is paid for... same as airline and concert tickets do. What is sad, is that this person has accused me of trying to scam people. I have never taken peoples money for events and not followed through, nor would I ever do that. Ask yourself this one question... Why would I pay $3,000 out of my own pocket to help cover expenses for the Paranormal Disney World Trip 2015, then turn around and try to scam people? Please... If you even try and go there with that ridiculous idea you would look like a foolish child seeking attention.

When I find others to be vindictive against me, I try not to return fire and call others out by name since it only draws attention to them and not the true issue at hand. It also protects me from legal retaliation of any kind. It is a smart business move on many levels.

I have also seen others making threats to harm me physically lately. I have documented all of this and currently plan on moving forward with legal action against all of the individuals involved. For New Jersey law, if a person feels threatened by another individual, they can be pursued legally and possibly sent to jail, do community service, have a permanent mark on their record, and fined heavily. If the crime was filed in New Jersey, they will also have to attend court in New Jersey where the complaint was filed. Threatening someone physically online can be considered a criminal offense in New Jersey at this time.

Cyber harassment is a new law that is picking up traction in the legal system. It is a serious issue and I for one am glad they are doing something about it. If libel defamation of character and harassment is the way you want to go, then jail could be your end game. Each state has it's own set of laws they follow. Careful what you post online. It could be your undoing and you could be threatening your own livelihood.

tIME dILATION

I had a thought the other day that I wanted to share with you. One that falls on the belief I have about time being different once we die. Or should I say, time is non-existent once we die. This belief of mine had led me to this new idea.. Does outer space hold the key to what happens after we die?

Let's look at this idea first... Do astronauts age differently in outer space? The short answer? Yes. Yes, they do. According to this article, this has been proven through science. ISS astronauts age a little bit slower in space than we do here on earth. Due to a principle of physics known as time dilation. Cool, huh? Time reacts differently in a sense.

Time Dilation is an interesting concept. In the theory of relativity, time dilation is an actual difference of elapsed time between two events as measured by observers either moving relative to each other or differently situated from gravitational masses.(from Wikipedia) Gravity, speed and possibly a few other things can cause variations in our age process when compared to outer space.

Here is where I get a bit paranormal... My belief is that time does not exist the same way once we die. Could time differences in outer space possibly somehow prove this? NDE's talk about how they float above their body and enter a white tunnel of light which takes them to the other side. Is outer space like a gateway to the 'stairway to heaven' once we die? Could time dilation somehow hold the secret to life after death?

I have so many more questions about this concept being possibly intertwined somehow. Here's a favorite question of mine... When conducting a paranormal investigation, why are EVP's sometimes heard a few seconds after you ask a question? Time dilation, perhaps?

In the next few months, I will continue to look into this idea and provide more details on what I discover. Stay tuned...

Virtual Reality

Everyone has pretty much heard of VR(Virtual Reality) from a movie, a technology trade-show, etc. For those that don't know, this is a computer-simulated environment that can simulate physical presence in places in the real world or imagined worlds.

What makes this tech so special? Well, it is the latest and biggest thing to hit tech lately. you can now own your very own VR headset for as little as $20 if you have an update-to-date smartphone. That's right cadets, it's called Google Cardboard.

I have yet to try this new innovation(I ordered one a few days ago.), but the feedback from other users is astounding. Go ahead and check YouTube for "Google Cardboard reactions" and check it out for yourself.

There is even a bigger player in the VR market called Oculus Rift. that unit is still in development and may cost around $200 once it is released for commercial use. Here is a video of some of the people who have seen it in action:

I can not help but wonder what this kind of tech would do for paranormal investigating. Would be helpful? Or cause possibly cause issues for the field?

I think a bigger question would be this... What would our world be like after this has been released upon the public? Have we not turned into couch potatoes as it is? It may be a good time to start worrying about humanity and where we are heading... As if we didn't have enough reasons to do that already.

Alien Isolation - XBOX 360

Hello! Tis the season again for all things spooky and gross to make it's way back into our lives. I am talking about Halloween! Usually, I post which favorite movies I watch at this time of year, but this year, I am going to do a game review... ALIEN ISOLATION.

I have always been a fan of the Alien franchise. Some movies were pretty ridiculous, but Alien and Aliens to this day are in my top 100 films of all time... and I have seen a TON of movies.

You start off as Amanda Ripley that is in search of answers to her mom's disappearance, Ellen Ripley.  Once they establish the characters and the main goal of the game, you are pretty much up and running... literally.

Some of you may be thinking, "Video game? What good is that to me? I hate games!" Well, you need to understand, that this game is INCREDIBLY scary and gross. It was the perfect thing for me to do for the Halloween season. It left me jumping out of my chair and sent my heart racing on numerous occasions during gameplay.

The length of the game was pretty long in my opinion. I kept wondering when the game was going to end. It seemed like forever at times. Not that I was bored, more like it was spooky draining. Like I was tired of getting scared all the time. I needed to keep going to find out what happened to my character(Amanda Ripley. Ellen Ripley's daughter btw), like a really good book or movie. I needed to see the end through. Yeah. I finished the game. I do not want to ruin the end, but it was pretty cool.

If you are a fan of the Alien movies, this is a must play. It brings back the Alien as scary as he ever was in the original movie. You find yourself crouching and ducking around corners as the Alien hunts you down.

I give this game a 9 out of 10. Why? Because I like good scares and it seems as though the Alien is back on the hunt in full force with this game. If you do not have a heart condition and are looking for a freaked out good game, get it. Remember to shut your lights off before you play it... Until next time... BOO!

Eastern State Penitentiary September 2014 Event

We had the most amazing time at ESP this past weekend! We had a great crew of investigators that all conducted amazing investigations. Not only were we lucky with a major solar storm that was hitting the Earth at the time of the investigation, but we also got to go into locations that were never investigated before.

We went into Death Row, Cell Block 12, Cell Block 4, Kitchen/Bakery and a host of other places. We caught some really cool responses on audio and event captured some unique photo anomalies as well. We all have a ton of footage to go over, but I am confident we captured some amazing things that night, Stay tuned for more on our findings as they are revealed.

What's up?

"What's up Chris? What's been going on lately?"

I get asked these questions a lot lately. Half of the time, I couldn't even answer them even if I wanted to. Today, however, I am going to try and give everyone a "down and dirty" on what has been happening in my crazy paranormal life.

1. EASTERN STATE PENITENTIARY GHOST HUNT on Saturday, September 13th, 2014. Tickets are only $90 per person to investigate. Must be 18+ or older to attend and sign a liability waiver before the investigation. ALL TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. ORDER YOUR TICKETS BY CLICKING HERE.
2. Filmed an all new episode of "Scream Paranormal Research investigates..." with the team at a great location in Pennsylvania. When it will be edited into an episode is anyone's guess. It is one of many projects on the table at this time.
3. Doing a few radio shows and client investigations. Nothing major to discuss at this time though.
4. I will be attending the PARANORMAL PORTAL on October 11th, 2014 with many other teams from the area. More to come on this at a later date.
5.  PARANORMAL DISNEY WORLD TRIP 2015 is set for September 11-13th, 2015. We have worked hard to get some amazing deals from Disney to make this a doable event for everyone. Payment plans are available. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE.
6. We will be setting up a few meet and greets at haunted attractions in October if our schedule allows it. Please stay tuned for more on this at a later date.

"Hey dude, when you gonna be on TV again?"

This question is frustrating to answer. Why? Well.. there are so many things I would love to share with everyone, but can't due to non-disclosure agreements, time-frame, fizzled-out opportunities, etc. I don't normally discuss opportunities like this unless it has been scheduled to air on network TV.

The team and I were working with a producer from LA since October of last year on a ground-breaking new paranormal TV series. Supposedly, the show was bought and they were in "creative" working on episodes/show direction and such. We had network interest, but it looked like it may have fizzled-out. Not sure to be honest where it stood, but I have been in the business long enough to know that if it doesn't flow into something, it is dead and is time to move on.

So, with the idea of  "moving on" comes another possible opportunity...

A few weeks ago, me and a bunch of other paranormal nut jobs filmed with a great production team for a major production house. They put together what seems to be an outstanding project that I know everyone is going to love as much as I do. I am more confident in this project than any of the others I have ever worked on in the past. It has everything that a paranormal show needs. Fingers crossed it goes to network quickly so we can show you how frickin' AWESOME it truly is. Yes. This is for a TV series as well.
