Fort St. Catherine in Bermuda

Bermuda is an awesome place. I was lucky to run around an amazing fort this past week on a family vacation. Which place am I referring to? Fort St. Catherine.

Initially built in 1614, the St. Catherine Fort is a sight to behold. It was built by the British to fend off the Spanish, French and eventually the American armies. It is hard to imagine a fort not being haunted. There was even an exorcism held at the fort in the 1970's. Unfortunately, I do not have any details regarding this.

I went into the fort looking for any possible signs of a haunting and didn't find anything significant. This does not mean it is not haunted. When we were there, we were the only ones walking around in the lower chambers. The haunting supposedly takes place in lower chambers.

Here are a few photos I took while I was there snooping around.

  1. I was at the fort about a month ago with my husband and snapped about sixty photos. Many the same as yours, in fact I have the third below and in it is an odd smokey figure, perhaps two. I would send it to you if interested. Directly from my Ipad, has not been developed as yet.

  2. I was at Fort St. Catherine's in August 2016 and felt very uncomfortable walking through the lower chambers. I felt a hostile presence and I am still creeped out about it to this day (May 5, 2017). I also almost fell 15 feet on the outside by the higher walls where the cannons are located while backing up to take a photo. I was one foot away from my death. I heard that the women operated the cannons during wars and the men worked in the chambers and delivered the heavy ammunition to the women above. I could have fallen and died at the fort that day. I will never return to Bermuda!! I am scared straight! Liz
